The second tree from the left has much of it's final coloring. Notice: the lighting on the trees will be coming in from the right.
About the Mural...
After realizing the potential for a large scale mural on the East facing wall of Bank of the Sierra's Corporate Headquarters in Porterville, California, nationally recognized local artist Steven Louis Ball was commissioned to paint a Giant Sequoia grove on this massive canvas. At approximately 5,600 square feet, it is believed to be the largest mural in Central California, and one of the largest in the state.
The mural was started in mid-October 2012, and weather permitting, is scheduled for completion around year-end.
Steven is no stranger to Sierra related murals, and has a number of other nearby murals to his name. The design is original, based on current and vintage images of actual Giant Sequoia trees of the nearby Sierra mountain groves.
